Warren Lammert's profile

The Economic Growth Center at Yale University

As the CEO and chief investment officer at Granite Point Capital, Warren Lammert leverages more than three decades of experience to direct a team that manages more than $250 million worth of client assets. The chairman of Cerebral Therapeutics and Tevard Biosciences, Warren Lammert graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Yale University.

A part of the Yale Department of Economics, the Economic Growth Center focuses on the study of economic growth in countries with low incomes. Founded in 1961, the center offers a program in economic history, which involves the study of economies of the past. The program leverages tools of econometrics and economics, as well as empirical evidence to gain insight into how economies developed over history. In addition, the program analyzes how past economic events have shaped the present. Generally, students who participate in the program are studying for a doctorate in economics or other disciplines.

Other aspects of the Economic Growth Center include its weekly economic history workshops. Yale graduate students and faculty, as well as scholars from other colleges, are invited to speak at the workshops. In late March 2020, professor Christopher L. Hanes of Binghamton University in New York will speak on the topic “How the Bank of England Influenced British Interest Rates in the Classical Gold Standard Era.”
